Our Prior Knowledge about Dogs

Miss Courtney's Tui group had a piece of paper that said, "Tell me what you already know about dogs." We talked to each other about what we knew about dogs and wrote them on the piece of paper. We knew things like "Dogs like to chase cats" - Hazel, "Dogs can go in water" - Sunny-Dee and "Dogs like to dig for bones" - RJ. We shared our ideas back to Miss Courtney. Then we read a book all about dogs. We learnt that "Some dogs are Police dogs that help people" - RJ, "When puppies are born they can't see, they use their nose to smell their mother"- Sunny-Dee and "Guide dogs help people who are blind and can't see" - Hazel.
