This is the Year 1, 2 & 3 learning community at South Hornby School.
This will be your go-to place for news, learning and happenings in Te Māuru-e-taki-nei.
We would love to see your positive comments, thoughts and ideas about our posts.
This morning at 10am we had our first whole hub Google Hangout. It was fantastic seeing so many gorgeous faces again! We are looking forward to seeing more faces tomorrow at 10am :)
Google hangouts are so cool. I love hanging out with all the gorgeous children in Te Ope Ruaraki. It sounds like you all had lots of fun catching up with each other. It is so funny to think of you all being together, learning at the same time, but you are all in different homes. Google Hangouts are so good at making sure we are all together when we can't be in the same space.
Please structure your comments as follows: Positive - Something they have done well. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say. Helpful - Give some ideas for next time or Ask a question you want to know more about.
We had so much fun looking at pictures and guessing who they could be...... Thank you to all that send photos in and joined in our hangout. Our baby photos are below!
Mrs Bayley and Miss Hollings' Homerooms went to Te Pā o Moki marae today!! We had such a blast! We went on a bus. We were welcomed onto the marae. We sung Waiatas. We ate kai and said our Mihimihi. We learnt about our Te Manu Tukutuku -South Hornby Schools' cultural narrative (story). We had so much fun! A day full of exploring, listening and understanding new learning. Oh and we got to see and touch (if we wanted to) short and long fin tuna (eels)!! Oh such fun! Not to mention, our very own principal showed us how to use harakeke to make Ika (fish) . How lucky are we!
