Volume and Capacity

At the moment our maths focus is on volume and capacity. Today Miss Courtney's and Miss Hollings' maths classes worked together to build creations out of the materials we have around the classroom. Once we finished, we took a look at all of the creations and discussed which ones had the biggest capacity and which ones had the smallest. We noticed that the tallest ones are not always the ones with the biggest capacity. Here are some of our masterpieces!

 Today in our Hangout, we listened to a story about the greatest hugs. We set a challenge for our homerooms to write a story about their greatest hugs  and send them into their homeroom teachers. We are looking forward to reading these! I think there might even be a few 'thank you tickets' up for grabs for those people choosing a wonderful attitude towards their home learning! We then used our active listening ears and did a step-by-step drawing.  Here are some of our masterpieces! Tomorrow we are doing our 'guess the baby' challenge - see you all again then!
